Solving Trinomials in Quadratic Form

$4.25

The purpose of this packet is to place in the hands of the teacher, that’s you, everything needed to help your students learn how to accurately and efficiently solving trinomial functions in quadratic form.  This is an intense topic and one that requires a lot of examples and practice.  The work is done for you with this packet.  This lesson, is probably two day’s worth of materials, and covers two conditions:  Factorable and Non-Factorable.

While you can use the materials found here in any order, the following would be a good starting point, especially during social distancing practices or for a virtual classroom (distance learning).

  1. Assign the notes for student reading. Expect students to annotate observations, questions and predictions, as well as working through the examples in their notes.
  2. Lesson: Either present the PowerPoint in person, or via a video conference.  You can also assign the video made from the PowerPoint presentation for other students.
  3. Homework Assignment: Students will complete the assignment.
  4. Review: Attached is an answer document.  You can either review the assignment with students or have them grade their own work.  If using Google classroom, have students submit their grade with a reflection (stating what they either found confusing and figured out, or what is still confusing).

When you download this packet, you will receive a zipped folder.  In that folder you’ll find the following.

  1. A teacher guide (READ ME)
  2. Student Notes for reference or teacher memory-refresher
  3. An animated PowerPoint you can use as a lesson (and a video link)
  4. Assignment
  5. Answer Key

Thank you for your consideration.
